Mealoaf Mania!

Beef meatloaf freshly baked from the microwave!

A few weeks back, I helped my friend with a couple of stuff at her place and in return, she offered to cook me dinner. We both agreed on meatloaf for several reasons:

1. It's superbly easy to prepare and cook
2. I've NEVER had a proper meatloaf before
3. We love meat, and onions, and MEAT! =P

So just before we get started on our work, the meatloaf was being made. And boy, was it yummy! Top this with a slice of Rustical Bread and we were having the time of our lives. All this for less than RM20 between the two of us!

When we were discussing about the different meatloaf recipes out there, I decided to say hello to Uncle Google and check out what is a meatloaf and the ingredients used for it. I ended up in one of my favorite recipe websites: All Recipes - Easy Meatloaf.

So okay, I got the idea as to HOW it was done, the next one was to figure out if we want to follow it as per detail or come up with something on our own?

We ended up throwing in foodstuff that we liked into our meatloaf! Hahahaha. So what did we squish into the meatloaf recipe? Here's our (rather short) list of ingredients:

  • Minced beef meat (Ramly processed minced beef was used for this)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 stick of carrot
  • 1 big onion
  • Capsicum
  • Breadcrumbs (we toasted two slices of bread and ran it through the grater)
  • Butter
  • Salt (for taste)
  • Sugar (for taste)

The idea is to mix all of those ingredients together, place it in a microwaveable container, and dump it into the microwave for about 15 minutes (it depends on your microwave setting) and voila! Your meatloaf is done!

A thing to note about using beef: the meatloaf SHRINKS while getting cooked. So be prepared to see a slightly shrunken meatloaf in your container when it's done hahaha XD
